Privacy Policy

FinanceGC ("we", "our", or "us" — meaning the FinanceGC application and website together with its owner, operator, and developer) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the FinanceGC mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Financial Data: Bank statement data you upload or manually enter, including transaction descriptions, amounts, dates, and account balances. This data is used solely to provide the Service to you.
• Budget & Planning Data: Budget plans, planner items, and financial goals you create within the app.
• Payment Information: If you subscribe to FinanceGC Premium, payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play (for in-app purchases) or by Stripe (for web purchases), and subscription entitlements are managed by RevenueCat. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Process and analyze bank statements using AI to extract transaction data.
• Authenticate your identity and maintain the security of your account.
• Process subscription payments and manage your billing.
• Send you important service-related notifications.
• Respond to your support requests.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal financial data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

FinanceGC uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — Cloud database and authentication. Your account credentials and financial data are stored securely in Supabase-hosted databases. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — When you upload a bank statement PDF, the text content of your PDF is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API to extract and categorize transaction data. What is sent: transaction descriptions, amounts, and dates from your bank statement. Who receives it: Anthropic, Inc. (claude.ai). Anthropic does not retain your data after processing and does not use it to train AI models. Anthropic's data handling provides equivalent protection to this Privacy Policy. The app requests your explicit consent before sending any data to Anthropic. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy for full details.
• Stripe — Payment processing for FinanceGC Premium web subscriptions. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. We never store your full card details.
• RevenueCat — Manages in-app subscription purchases and entitlements across the Apple App Store and Google Play. RevenueCat receives a purchase/subscription identifier and your app user ID to keep your Premium status in sync; it does not receive your financial data or card number.
• Apple / Google — The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, subject to their respective privacy policies.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Supabase. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• TLS/SSL encryption for all data in transit.
• Encrypted storage for sensitive data at rest.
• Row-level security policies ensuring you can only access your own data.
• Secure JWT-based authentication for all API requests.

Staying signed in when you change Android phones. On Android 14 and later, the app can save a session token to Android's Restore Credentials store so that when you set up a new phone from a backup, you are signed in without typing your password again. Only the session token is saved — never your password and never any financial data. It is held by Android's encrypted credential store, not by us, and it is deleted when you sign out. If your device does not support this, or if anything goes wrong, you simply sign in as usual.

5. Data Retention & Backups

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. To protect you against accidental loss, the Service keeps automatic backups and snapshots of your data, and items you delete within the app are held in a recycle bin for up to 90 days before being purged. When you delete your account, we permanently delete all associated data — including your financial records, budget plans, statement history, backups, and snapshots — within 30 days.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: You can view all your financial data within the app at any time.
• Correction: You can edit or delete individual transactions and financial records within the app.
• Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data by going to Profile → Danger Zone → Delete Account. This action is immediate and irreversible.
• Export: You can export your data as PDF reports or CSV files from within the app.
• AI Consent — Grant or Revoke: You can grant or revoke your consent for FinanceGC to share bank statement content with Anthropic at any time by going to Profile → AI Data Consent. Revoking consent immediately disables the PDF Statement Import feature. No data is sent to Anthropic unless you have explicitly granted consent.

7. Children's Privacy

FinanceGC is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, via in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
